B&W Ebony DT770's buffed/polished and with removable cable

My man George, has been waiting a very long time for these.  Beyers are difficult to modify and on top of that, to get such a nice high gloss shine, it takes a long time for the lacquer to fully set. If you buff too soon then the coats underneath the surface will mar and streak.  Very frustrating, so patience is key.

  1. Oh god they're not even posted yet and I have to look at them at least once every 10 minutes. You're a god among men Marty.

    1. Hi,

Would be grateful if you could let me know how the DT770's with wood cups sound ? Thinking of sending my DT 770 / 32 ohm anniversary edt to Martin for modifications ? Could you please describe the difference in sound pre & post mod.

      Thanks
      Punit

    2. Hey I know this is a long waited reply but I just saw this. I'm georges cousin and have had my own D2000's luxuriously upgraded by Martin. Ive also had a chance to listen to his Beyers many times, both before and after.

Without going into massive detail I can say the sound of the beyers is much more natural with the wood cups. They've become less of a reference set and more of a easy listening set. Basses are tighter and more melodic in tone.
